COMMITTEE FOR THE SCIENTIFIC STUDY OF RELIGION
MINUTES - MEETING AT UNION THEOLOGICAL
SEMINARY, NEW YORK CITY
April 10, 1954

Business Meeting
Chairman Pemberton presided. The following action was taken:
1. Saturday, November 6, was sett [sic] for the fall meeting at Harvard, the program to be in the general charge of the Vice-Chairman, Professor Werner Wolff of Bard College, and Professor Richard V. McCann of Harvard. Tentative plans were set for two programs of papers, one dealing with theoretical and the other with empirical studies of religion in the social scientific field. Those with proposed papers of not over twenty minutes in these fields should send two copies of an abstract of not over 300 words to Dr. McCann at 48 Mt. Auburn Street, Cambridge, 38, Massachusetts, before September 30, 1954.
2. A procedure was set up for this approval and endorsement by the Committee of research projects. This will be found described on another page.
3. Because of the rapid growth of the mailing list it was decided to drop the names of those who have not paid dues after a reasonable interval. Consequently, those who wish to remain members should send $1.00 to the Treasurer, Dr. Jacqueline Y. Sutton, Dept. of Social Relations, Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts, if they have not already done so for 1954.

Papers and abstracts of the program follow.
