REPORT ON THE JOURLAL
Prof. J. Paul Williams reported for the committee on the negotiations with the REVIEW OF
RELIGION relative to naming that journal as the official journal of the Society, and to increase dues to
$5..Oo in order to include a subscription to the journal. The Secretary reported that out of 116 replies
to enquiries about the effect of raising the dues, 99 members voted in the affirmative. In the discussion
there were cautions with respect to the effect on the membership of the rise in dues and the possibility
of incurring financial obligations that the Society would be unprepared to meet. There was also a
discussion with respect to the editorial responsibility for acceptance and rejection of papers. It was
finally voted to authorize the committee to continue negotiations with the REVIEW OF RELIATION and to finalize arrangements if, in the opinion of the committee this seems wise.
Respectfully submitted,
Walter Houston Clark,
Secretary
