The annual business meeting of the society was called to order at 2:15 p.m. in the cafeteria of the Interchurch Center in New York City by President Horace M. Kallen. About 65 persons were present. The minutes of the annual meeting of October 30, 1950 were approved as previously distributed to members. The treasurer's report was approved; the report indicated a balance as of October 25, 1960 of $449.38.

New members. The President announced the election to membership in the Society of 29 persons on January 10, 1960 and of 58 persons on this date, bringing the total membership to 451.

Constitutional amendments. It was unanimously voted to ratify the following amendment to the Constitution to appear as Article 4, Section 1 (the underlined words being added to the paragraph): "The Officers of the Society are a President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer. These officers, the two immediately past presidents, the immediately past secretary and treasurer (or secretary-treasurer), together with six Councilors shall constitute the Council, which shall direct the affairs of the Society between meetings in accordance with the Constitution and the acts of the society. The Council will report its actions to the society at the Business Meetings."

Memorial Minute to Howard Becker. After a minute of silent memorial, it was voted to adopt a memorial minute to Howard Becker, composed by Walter Houston Clark and Allan W. Eister. It was voted to include this memorial in the first issue of the JOURNAL FOR THE SCIENTIFIC STUDY OF RELIGION.

Journal. Paul Williams, Chairman of the Publications Committee, announced plans to begin publication of the JOURNAL FOR THE SCIENTIFIC STUDY OF RELIGION in 1961, semi-annually, with 128 pages in each issue. It was voted to establish the membership fee at $5.00 for the year 1961, membership to include a subscription to the journal. It was voted to establish a student membership for bona fide full-time students to include all privileges in the society including subscription to the journal, except the privilege of voting at annual meetings. By consent it was agreed that the amount of the student membership fee be left to the Council to determine.

Election of officers. For the Nominating Committee, Mr. Clark put into nomination the following persons: For the term on the council expiring in 1962 left vacant by the death of Howard Becker, O. Hobart Mowrer; for terms on the Council expiring in 1963, Allan W. Eister and Theodore Sprague. It was voted to instruct the Secretary to cast a unanimous ballot for these persons.

1961 Meeting. It was announced that the twenty-first meeting of the Society will be held Friday an and Saturday, October 27 and 28, 1961 in Cambridge or Boston, Massachusetts.

Resolutions of appreciation. By acclamation, the Society voted its appreciation of President Horace M. Kallen who served as Program Chairman for the 1960 meeting and to the Bureau of Research and Survey of the National Council of Churches and its Director, Lauris B. Whitman, who served as host for this meeting.
