SSSR Annual Business Meeting Minutes

The Business Meeting of the Society for the Scientific Study of Religion is held during the Annual Meeting and is open to all members. In the earliest years of the Society, the minutes include both the business of the organization as well as the substance of the meetings. They provide important information on the nature and character of the organization in its formative years. In provides a record of who participated in the program and, often, a summary of their presentations. As the organization develops, the annual business meeting takes on a more proforma character wherein officers report to the membership on the work of the Council. The Business Meeting Minutes, thus, tend to be a miniature version of the Council Meeting Minutes. Still, one finds occasional insights and information not readily available elsewhere.
