SSSR/RRA Annual Meeting Programs

The Annual Meeting Programs of both the Society for the Scientific Study of Religion and the Religious Research Association may be accessed here by clicking on the year of the program you wish to view.

The Society for the Scientific Study of Religion was founded in 1949 as the Committee for the Scientific Study of Religion; the Religious Research Association was founded a year earlier in 1948 as the Religious Research Fellowship. The two research organizations fest met jointly in 1972 and have held joint meetings ever since. From that year, the annual meetings program appears as a joint publication. For most years, SSSR and RRA program sessions are separately identified.

Some of the earliest programs had to be retyped, but most were reproduced by scanning and then converting to HTML. Our goal, insofar as practical, has been to create a faithful reproduction of the original program in both content and formal. Only program advertisements, hotel floor plans, programs of other organizations that have occasionally met jointly, and a few pictures have been omitted from the program reproductions. We did not seek systematically to correct typos in the original texts. The reproduction process has undoubtedly produced additional errors for which we apologize.
